Chasm Digital co-founders practice what they preach with Beerlove
Beerlove, created by Chasm Digital's own Chris Clark, saw a gap in the market where smaller, independent craft brewers were struggling to get their product stacked in shelves and poured on tap at pubs.

Background
Beerlove, run by Chasm's own Chris Clark, is a startup that partners with small craft beer breweries and supports local providers in the market by selling and distributing kegs via an innovative ecommerce platform and tech-enabled monitoring devices.

According to Chris and Robert, "We created Beerlove to disrupt and help accelerate the craft beer revolution in Australia - giving beer lovers better access to great beer, and helping independent breweries have a fair go."

Beerlove works by sourcing the beer from breweries around the country, those breweries ship it in commercial kegs to Beerlove’s warehouse where they use a scientifically tested process of transferring beer from commercial kegs into mini-kegs. According to Chris, Each mini-keg sold saves 30 packaging units.

The problem
Chris and Robert saw a gap in the market where smaller, independent craft brewers were struggling to get their product stacked in shelves and poured on tap at pubs. 

The problem isn't the demand or the supply, it's the distribution. Breweries are typically fighting for space on liquor store shelves, and fighting for space on taps in pubs and clubs. That’s where we see Beerlove as disrupting the status quo.

The solution
Chasm Digital focuses on business innovation and leveraging a digital-first mindset to build and transform businesses. Beerlove is the perfect example of Chasm Digital’s own founders ‘walking the walk and talking the talk’, where they identified a particular industry where there's a significant gap, and there's an opportunity to fill that gap with a technology-driven approach.

Applying Chasm Digital’s ‘future fit’ mindset approach, Beerlove was born with a technology-first approach, integrating tools such as the Internet of Things (IoT), smart devices, data platforms and ecommerce solutions.

We will be using smart devices for the monitoring of the kegs. We then use that collection of data for things like reordering, market analysis and to fuel further product innovation.

Responsibility minded, Beerlove will also enable customers to easily share their alcohol consumption levels with their friends via social media. Chris says this is a particularly practical tool for those who are trying to drink responsibly.

“The technology integrated into Beerlove also helps customers from a marketing and ecommerce perspective, adds Chris.”This is because it provides an effortless digital experience for people to engage with online, to order from and utilising the latest in marketing automation technology.”

The results
As a result of a digital-first approach to Beerlove, the company has sold and delivered close to 300 kegs during its initial 12-month research and development phase, and is currently finalising a $500,000 pre-seed capital raising round of funding to expand further in 2022.
